Stage technology in the Ilmenau festival hall

The festival hall in Ilmenau / Thuringia was built in 1938 and has provided space for numerous music and cultural events. From April 2019 to April 2023, the building complex underwent a fundamental renovation in the amount of approximately 23 million euros. In the first construction phase, the Park Café and Park Hall were renovated from April 2019 to November 2020. In a second construction phase, the large ballroom followed from March 2020. The third construction phase included the redesign of the adjacent Festhalle Park. With a ceremonial act on April 18, 2023, the Festhalle was reopened as a cultural and congress center after completion of the renovation.

Klik Bühnensysteme GmbH was commissioned with the execution of the stage technology as well as the steel construction. Here a fixed stage was supplemented by a variably usable forestage from stage platforms. The upper machinery consists of four-point lattice girders and chain hoists, as well as a curtain system. In the hall, lattice girders as well as light poles were installed.

In addition to the window grilles, the balcony railings, the clothes racks and the checkroom underwent extensive refurbishment. Railings and guardrails were provided in the stairwells.
